More Table Topping
Sally Fairman found another table, piled it high with all your good stuff (and some of your bad ;-)) and raised another £150.
Wildest Quiz Night Ever
Helen exceeded even her own high standards of wackiness to host the quiz that surpassed all quizes. A total of £237 raised - if you weren't there you missed a corker...
£1000 from cakes
A landmark £1000 of fund raising was achieved today by 'the ladies that bake', and celebrated in style by a couple of fine examples duly decorated to mark the occasion.
Xmas Quiz
The answers to the dastardly Xmas Quiz were checked by the quizmaster himself, Richard Loader and the winner received a bottle of champagne. The quiz raised a superb £165 so well done Richard! (nice hat btw)
Giant Tombola & Katy's Kake
Fair do's to the Fairmans whose Mega-Jumbo-Turbo-Tombola turned in a magnificent £360 while Katy's Kristmas Kake was raisin £52! Ros Ellis won the hamper star prize.
Happy Xmas all :)
Chilli Quiz Night
The Quiz evening was a great success. Winning team were "Six Appeal" but winners over all were SCLTC with a profit of £250 PLUS good bar takings - hot stuff!
Raising Dough
Rod Phillippe's personal home bakery service (now closed for business) contributed more than a slice to the fund. The club is waiting with baited breath for Rod's next fundraising venture...
The Tour de Phillippe
Rod's cycle from le tennis club to Roland Garros has raised a staggering £700 towards the new court fund! Zut alors, formidable n'est pas?

- Quiz Night - Tuesday 21st July, with host Helen. Sign up now, places limited - if you thought you knew quiz nights, think again!
Important: Court use on Saturdays. While the hard courts are out of action during the Summer months we'll all have to make allowances for the reduced number of courts available for play. Particularly on a Saturday morning between 9:00 and 1:00 when Helen will be using 3 courts for coaching the juniors which will leave only one court for general club use.
Please bear this in mind before coming down on a Saturday morning. The suggestion is to start club play at 1:00 rather than 1:30 to maximise the use of the courts. The court resurfacing is due to start on Tuesday 5th May and is planned for completion within 8 weeks with a little 'settling' time afterwards, so won't be long before we'll have our new floodlit hard courts in action.

News from the Committee
The committee is delighted to advise members that the contract to resurface the hard courts was awarded to Trevor May on 10th March 2009. The work is due to commence May 5th.
There will inevitably be some disruption to the facilities available during this time, but the end result will be worth it! We will have 3 new - and flat! - floodlit tarmacadam courts. The new Spadeoak mesh surface will be added as soon as funds allow.
We have entered a record 5 men’s teams and 1 ladies team for the West Sussex Summer league 2009. The teams are open to everyone so if you’d like to play (only 5 or 6 matches over 5 months) please contact the team captains
